MEET THE CHARACTER BLOG HOP
I have been asked by the talented Leesa Bow to introduce you to one of the characters in my WIP, TURN TO ME (BOOK 2, IN THE THIN BLUE THREAD SERIES).
Leesa and I are both New Adult Street Team authors. To learn more about her new release, Jardine check out Leesa’s blog http://leesabow.com/?page_id=9.
So, here we go!
- What is the name of your character in TURN TO ME?
Robbie Amell – Donovan Alexander
- Is HE fictional or a historic person?
Fictional! I write my characters based on a certain personality type – usually Alphas, but I borrow character traits from a few different people, combine that with specific quirks or strengths I think a person with his specific background/backstory would have, and then finally mix in what I find attractive in a man. I fall in love with my leading man while I’m writing his story. If they don’t make my heart thud, I couldn’t expect them to do the same for my readers.
- When and where is the story set?
Present day. It is a contemporary romance, set in Santa Monica, California.
- What should we know about him?
Donovan is a rookie cop with the Santa Monica PD. He is built like a gladiator, but lives the police creed: to protect and serve, which includes his love, Kenna Sloane. Oh, and he has a killer sense of humor, always making witty comments and sarcastic jokes.
- What is the personal goal of the character?
To do in the world what he couldn’t do in his own family. Save people, and sometimes that’s from themselves.
- What is the blurb?
What dictates the path in life we take and who we choose to walk with?
After escaping her abusive parents, nineteen-year-old Kenna Sloane is determined to create an independent life, free of emotional distraction. The last thing this focused college student wants is a relationship, especially with a hot rookie cop popular with the badge bunnies.
When Kenna reluctantly agrees to a double date with Santa Monica cop Donovan Alexander, she’s launched on an exciting and dangerous journey. With time, she discovers some souls are instinctively drawn together to quiet the pain of their traumatic pasts. But even after the revelation of Donovan’s own secret burden, Kenna continues to battle the fear she may be too broken for her modern day knight in blue.
Can Kenna open her heart to the healing light of true love before peril strikes?
- Is there a working title for this novel?
- When can we expect the book to be published or when was it published?
TURN TO ME should be out January or February of 2015.
What happens next? It’s a blog hop so head on over to blogs of these talented ladies and check out what they are posting about their characters around 23 November 2014.
